Corfe Castle Festival of British Archaeology July 2014

Introduction

The National Trust at Corfe Castle are hosting the Network's involvement with the Festival of British Archaeology.

Members will be active in the Castle Grounds between 12th and 27th July. They will be demonstrating a variety of ancient technologies and skills and displaying their wares for sale.

On most days there will be an activity or two on offer for the public to try for themselves, including pottery making, mosaic pattern making, metal working and textile production

The network are setting up an archaeological dig, where members of the public can become archaeologists for a while and experience the excitement of excavating a pit and identifying what they find, which should include some real Roman pottery shards and an assortment of other interesting objects.
